I have been married to my wife, Susan, for twenty years, and we have four children who keep us very busy. Susan and I met at work, where we were both engineers. After our children arrived, Susan left the work force to raise and homeschool our kids.

I grew up in Knoxville but have spent most of my adult life in Johnson City. When I was growing up, my grandparents lived in Johnson City and had a lake house here where we spent every vacation. Early on, I developed a love for water-skiing, something I'm still passionate about to this day.

Another big passion is college sports - if the Vols are playing, expect to see me in orange!

I also enjoy coaching soccer. I've really gotten close to the boys I've coached for five years on the "Warriors."

My family enjoys camping, hiking and educational travel. We attend Redeemer Community Church in Johnson City.

I can sum up my personal life with a waterskiing metaphor. As a slalom skier, I am always concerned with the wake behind my boat (i.e., smaller is better). For my life, I desire to live in such a way that the wake I leave behind enhances the lives I come in contact with. I cannot achieve this alone, which is why I rely on Christ.
